TRU SCORES A HAT TRICK WITH 3 COMMUNICATOR AWARDS

The winners of the 2014 Communicator Awards were announced on April 29, 2014 by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts. With over 6000 entries received from across the US and around the world, the Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring the creative excellence for communications professionals.

The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), a 600+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. Current IAVA membership represents a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms including: AirType Studio, Condè Nast, Disney, Keller Crescent, Lockheed Martin, Monster.com, MTV, rabble+rouser, Time Inc., Tribal DDB, Yahoo!, and many others. We are the proud recipients of 2 Awards of Excellence in the category of Outdoor/Environmental Advertising for Tradeshows and Exhibits for our work on the Pepsi PGA Booth and in the category of Website Visual Appeal for our website. The third award was an Award of Distinction in the Interactive/Multi-Media Category for the “Going for Growth” Gameshow we produced for Diageo.

“We are ecstatic over this win,” said Rachael Cash, CEO of TRU. She added, “Our creative department has evolved dramatically over the last few years and getting recognized for their achievements in the creative space is a real testament to the talent we have in-house. I’m so thrilled for our creative team.”

One of the Awards of Excellence recognizes TRU’s work in the creation and execution of the graphics and experiential environment of PepsiCo’s exhibit at the annual PGA show. The main goal of PepsiCo’s presence at this annual event was to increase traffic flow through the booth to educate and update clients about their partnership with the PGA. The team at TRU designed the graphics and environmental structure of the space as well as the digital elements contained throughout the exhibit which included a custom touchscreen and a digital sales kit, also known as the “digital blitz kit”. Mike Nast, the Director of Sales for PepsiCo Foodservice, stated, “The open air feel and lowered height of the graphics definitely opened up the booth, and we had our best foot traffic ever.” You can read more about it here.

The second Award of Excellence was awarded to the visual appeal of TRU’s website. “When we redesigned the website back in August, we knew we wanted a site that our clients and prospects would want to visit and revisit by making it useful, informational, but also visually appealing,” said Rachael. “Another goal was to ensure that our in-house creative capabilities were reflected on the site, which is why we had our own team develop the graphics and visuals for the site.”

The third award was the Award of Distinction in the Interactive/Multimedia Category for the digital gameshow we produced for a Diageo management event held to introduce management executives to new products and educate them on best corporate and financial practices, including cost-saving techniques. TRU’s solution was to create a game-show type of environment, dubbed the “Going for Growth” room where each of the participants used an iPad to respond to questions related to cost-saving techniques. The programming used to collect the data was developed by TRU. The information collected from these touchscreens was displayed at the front of the room. “Our team was able to create a memorable and engaging event within Diageo’s environment. According to a client at Diageo, ‘The ‘Going for Growth’ game show room was one of the most popular rooms at the event!” said Rachael.
